GARD BOOKS was established in 1975 in York as a mail-order antiquarian book business and was acquired by Philip Lawson in 1985. The company, which is now owned by Philip's wife Lizzie, buys and sells secondhand sheet music and also supplies new music to cathedrals, churches and schools at discounted rates. In stock at present are between 4 and 5,000 items of organ music, choral music both sacred and secular, opera scores, solo songs, piano music, miniature and study scores and music for instrumental ensemble, some new, some secondhand but all in good to excellent condition. GARD BOOKS has trading accounts with all the major publishers, and supplies new music direct from publisher to customer at 12.5% discount. |
